Apollo Hosting not only upgraded the server which hosts my e-commerce website without notifying me first, but they forgot to back up my website and lost a significant amount of my website’s current database including recent orders, customers, updated Holiday pricing, and inventory results. I expect to be reimburst for my losses and hope that they act in a civil and understanding manner before my attorney gets involved. I will update this posting when a resolution has been issued by Apollo

I am currently going through the same thing now! They have lost my ENTIRE site!! I created it over 8 years ago! I am researching this with an attorney! I say we ban together and get a class action lawsuit against these people! Back in May I spent $129.95 to upgrade to the latest patch and now I have nothing. I have all of my e-mails showing I complied with the migration. I was working with a man named “Josh” and when my shopping cart was not agreeing with their new platform I corrected the errors with the assistance of Josh at Apollo and my shopping cart company PDG. Josh even made a test purchase that went through fine. I was told that I would be notified when the migration was complete. They say an e-mail went out telling me my site was not compatible and I never got it! All of our files are on the old server locked down! I am told this sounds like a legal matter! Is anyone interested in a lawsuit?? I am in California! Let me know. My number is (415) 370-6700.

The exact same thing happened to my hostings. I have multiple hostings and without notification they just went and migrated everything to new servers loosing ton’s of data. I got some of the accounts back to life after days of troubleshooting, but most of the servers still remains offline after 6 weeks!! Very unprofessional.
ATTN: Apollohosting _used to be_ a great hosting company with ok pricing years ago and they had an outstanding customer support, but something has happened to their customer support which lacks it all nowadays. STAY AWAY if you don’t love problems.

They moved their services to India. I cannot even get the techs to find one of our accounts after spelling it 3-4 times. If you can’t speak English – DO NOT ANSWER THE FRONT LINES. That’s why Apollo is in a downward spiral !!!! Stay away !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been with Apollo since 1997 and it is a daily continious struggle just to keep emails working, websites up and running, and talk about tech service … well there is none. I cannot begin to tell you of the horror stories I have had while dealing with apollo. Apollo has lost me customers, thousands of dollars, and hundereds of unbillable hours. Working with them is a pure nightmare.
At one time I hosted 36 websites with apollo, which have been moved to other sites now, but I still have to deal with apollo because when I started with them they were in the domain registration business and then farmed out the domains to other registrars so I have to continue to deal with them. Everytime a domain name comes up for renewal … I just cringe. I would avoid using Apollo for anything!!!!!!!
Correction, Apollo was never in the domain reg business. They simply resold for “Alabanza” who is the last reg company that I would ever use after they screwed up my account and did not post my CC to pay for my renewal for my domain.. this resulting in my domain going into redemption.. That’s right I almost lost my domain.. because of the wonderful people at Alabanza.. I had to go to Tamera (one of the principal owners of Apollo Hosting) and threatened legal action if she did not step in because Alabanza is some dark whole that you can never get in tough with and I reg thru Apollo like you..
My advise move you domain to another .reg company and get away from Apollo Hosting..
You have no idea the nightmares that I’m going through dealing with that company apollo hosting. The service is horrible, and their support teams are cluless. Just talking about rasies my blood pressure. I’ve been with them for 9 years now. I can write books about all the nightmares I went through with that company. I still haven’t switched to another company because I feel that they have my site floating on clouds that any movement my just crash the site. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I had a dozen commercial sites with Apollo for 8 years. In fact, I was their I believe 7th customer. This goes back to when Tamera and her partner obviously started the company back December 1996 (if my memory serves me correctly). In the beginning the service was excellent but went down hill over the years. Tech support took an overly long time to respond and when they did it was sub-par. Once of the servers I was on was hacked on more than one occasion – this was due to their lack of attention to security and when they moved their account to another NOC – the servers were down for over 4 days!!!! NICE JOB Apollo for great customer service. I was already in process of looking for a new hosting company form the servers being hacked so the down time really made me angry and NO they did not refund money to me for the downtime.. Nice job Apollo Hosting!!! Great Customer Service..
It took them almost a month to respond to my company pulling all my accounts and when I received a call from the operations director Don – he asked my why I canceled all my accounts. I told him about the technical support was slow and sub-par and hacked servers was a final nail in the coffin not to mention that the NOC change.. How can a business that is run like this still be in business? Anyway, Dons reply was that the servers are older and that I should upgrade to newer servers – right after all I went though they want more $$$ NO THANKS Don (Apollo Hosting). By the way, Don only called because I send Tamera an email letting her know that I was unhappy with the service and that I would be pulling my accounts because of all the crap.
I can’t speak about them outsourcing to another country but I do attest my personal experience and will NOT EVER recommend them. So, if you want to take a chance with your clients and mess with your income then go with Apollo and trust this website BUT think about this; what if you are one of the percentage in the “Hate/Pages Ratio”? How would you feel if it was messing with a large client like mine who spends $350,000 annually with me.. I guess “Hate/Pages Ratio” for only 0.00003 really is not that bad.. Never mind my personal experience and listen to the genus who came up with this sites rational of looking at numbers. Good Luck and “I told you so” if you go with Apollo Hosting…
I experienced the same during the infamous “Migration” debacle.
If you by any chance had a dedicated server with them then you stood no chance.
After 10+ years I got out. They were good 10 years ago, but not any more!
