Supergreen Hosting sucks real bad. Supergreenhosting.com is so bad because it doesn’t have any bad reviews about it when we searched for “SuperGreen Hosting sucks” or “SuperGreen hosting complaints” on Google today… yeah sucks for their competitors is what we meant. We also tried “supergreen sucks”, “suppergreen sucks”, “supergreen hosting bad”, “SuperGreen sux” and other variation of misspells, just incase some smart cookie cannot even spell the host name right or try to avoid being sued by SuperGreen. Sorry still none.
If you are considering any cheap hosting company or even an unlimited reseller hosting, you should do a search for keywords “ABC Hosting Sucks” on Google. Perhaps you have already read tons of good stuff and rave reviews about hosting ABC but doing the “ABC sucks” search may reveal the true side of the hosting provider. You can also try other keywords such as “Super Green problems”, “Super Green issues” or “Super Green scam”.

Domaining Tips: hostingsthatsuck.com strongly suggest that you do not use the free domain name for life offer to do your main or important web domain registration. Use a different domain names registration service instead. This can avoid domain transfer problems in the future. Most people will want to move to a better hosting provider when the needs arises. There are many low cost domain registration services you can use these days. Moreover, get one of the best online backup services if you need to store files not related to webpages because most web hosting are not happy to see unrelated mp3, zipped or archive files in their so called “unlimited” webspace.
I did a quick Whois search on SupergreenHosting and it seems they are related to JustHost. I have made TWO mistakes on web hosting choices. Within the past week I opened accounts with host monster and 1-n-1, only to already start feeling uneasy about their service. I hope I can get my domains transferred to this, or one of your other recommendations, without too much hassle. The problem is when some looks up “web hosting reviews” you get a ton of dishonest sites just looking to make a quick buck.
Supergreen and Justhost is probably under same company. Many web hosts nowadays have multiple names under them. The good news is that Justhost is also a good host.
Sure you can transfer your domains from Hostmonster or 1&1. We tried moving from Hostmonster before and it was easy. Not sure with 1&1 though.
Most importantly, before you migrate to a new hosting, check (whois) if the domain name is registered under your name. If it is registered under the web host name, then you are in trouble as they may refuse to transfer because some domains from ‘free-domain-for-life’ packages are not eligible for transfer.
Admittedly, I can’t find many negative comments about Supergreen.
However this is in direct contrast to JustHost.
Given that I can find no distinctly negative reviews on Supergreen but JustHost falls under the same company I’d have to say I am sceptical.
But since this has been the best reviewed site by default, I may well try it.
I guarantee a sucky review should I find just cause
I’m NOT impressed and am NOT going with Supergreen Hosting. When shopping for a host, one of my tests is to contact the support number. Guaranteed if you have a severe website meltdown, it will be after hours, so it’s good to know if someone has your back. I tried calling Supergreen’s sales and support phone numbers with a couple of simple and specific questions about their service — at each, (a) I got someone who just barely spoke English and (b) I had to milk answers out of them. It was not reassuring.
I agree with you that if a hosting provides a certain support line – it should be responsive. However, judging a host just by their phone support is a bit premature. ICD Soft, a company without any phone support or fax number on their site, has the most responsive (online) support system we have tried. We can say they answer questions, even the technical ones, faster than any phone support from other hosts could.
So from now on, maybe we should test web hosts on how fast their ticket systems respond to our queries? Unlike phone support which depends on the individual person’s ability to answer questions, ticket system is more consistent and can be easily tracked.
SuperGreen absolutely rocks! I am soooo glad I went with this host. Customer service actually is excellent – but I didn’t call, I e-mailed. Got a response in 1 hour and they fixed the problem for me within the next hour. Very, very nice people. Loads of programs and scripts – even thought I typically build a website myself writting my own code, there’s no need to here. I had my site and blog up within a week. (That’s excellent ‘cuz I only worked part-time on it, maybe 2 hours a night – I’ve never gotten a site up in less time). I am very proud to use SuperGreen and recommend them to everyone! If only every company was so helpful and customer oriented!
Supergreen are not very good, it has taken between five and 22 hours for support, i have since told them where to get off. I asked them to install a Joomla template, with the content and files, after 23 hours they managed to 1- change all passwords 2 – change the username and finally let me have it after several attempts. 3 – put the bare bones of the template on the site. When I challenged them they told me that the template that I put on the site was excellent and if they can help me they will. This is just one of the many problems. Bancrupcy is just too good for them, do not go near
“I asked them to install a Joomla template…”
Why do you need to ask them to install Joomla template for you? Shouldn’t you be doing that yourself? I hope you don’t confuse a web hosting service with web design service because they are two totally different things. Therefore, you should not be asking your web host to install scripts, templates whatsoever no matter what they promise they can do when you try to sign up with them.
Let a company do what they do best… in this case they should be hosting, not helping with your web design and templates.
Sorry, I cannot be on your side Mike Green
I have been with supergreenhosting for over a year now with relatively few problems. I have had 3 or 4 occasions to use support by email. On all occasions the issues have been resolved reasonably efficiently and at no extra cost. My biggest complaint about the service is that there have been a number of occasions when the email has not been available for short periods. Although these have resolved themselves without any problems, it could be that this happens at a bad time for me in future.
On the whole, I have no regrets going with Supergreen hosting. They provide a good service at pretty low cost.
I have a couple of sites hosted with Supergreen and I have to say it does rock – great value, absolutely no downtime or email problems, and a quick response to sorting out a stupid problem of my own making. No complaints. Honestly. Just starting another site with Supergreen.
Supergreenhosting’s big drawback is that they force you to view a popup add each and every time you go into or refresh cpanel. I have discussed this with their support people, and the answer is “that’s just the way it is”. I use cpanel enough that this makes other hosting services look just a little bit better, and a lot less in-your-face annoying.
Fix this, and I would be generally happy with their service.
